Media: US-Iran negotiations have reached a deadlock
The Iranian side believes that the American delegation is making excessive demands during the negotiations in Islamabad.
This was reported by Iran's state broadcasting company.
According to its information, "the US is making excessive demands in this round of negotiations as well."
Earlier, the Financial Times (FT) reported that a deadlock persists in the US-Iran negotiations in Pakistan over control of the Strait of Hormuz.
One source told the publication that Iran insists on its control over the strait and the right to charge vessels a fee for passage. According to the article, Iranian negotiators reject the idea of "joint control."
According to the newspaper's sources, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and further with the Indian Ocean, remains a stumbling block in the negotiations.
