Lusine Kharatyan: Media of Armenia and Azerbaijan Need to Contribute to Strengthening Peace
In the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the media should avoid dehumanization of the societies of the two countries.
As Report informs, Armenian writer and cultural anthropologist Lusine Kharatyan stated this today at a press conference dedicated to the results of the fourth meeting of civil society representatives of the two countries within the framework of the "Peace Bridge" initiative.
"I think one of the most important things the media can do is create new narratives where there is no dehumanization of the other side," she noted.
According to the Armenian public figure, this will help increase trust and strengthen peace.
Kharatyan considers it important to explain to the citizens of both countries through the media what peace is: "We will continue working in this direction."
