Media: Israel is not involved in possible Washington-Tehran negotiations
Israel is not directly participating in the negotiations with Iran, which U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was reported by the Semafor portal citing sources.
According to them, American special envoy Steven Witkoff and U.S. President's son-in-law Jared Kushner are involved in the negotiations, and Vice President JD Vance could also be brought in if necessary. Israel, for its part, is receiving information on this matter from Washington.
As the U.S. President wrote on Truth Social, Washington and Tehran held "very good and productive negotiations" over the past two days on ceasing hostilities. According to him, the consultations "will continue throughout the week." Allegedly in connection with this, the head of the U.S. administration ordered a five-day postponement of possible strikes on Iran's energy infrastructure facilities.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei told the IRNA news agency that Tehran had not conducted any negotiations with Washington but had conveyed its position to intermediaries.
