Armenia and the United States are preparing an intergovernmental agreement that provides for legal mechanisms for the implementation of the TRIPP project ("Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity").

As reported by TASS, this was announced by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a briefing broadcast by local television channels.

"The Armenia-U.S. negotiations around TRIPP have not slowed down and are proceeding naturally. The first step was the announcement in August (of the project - ed.), the second - on January 14 a comprehensive step was agreed upon, published, and is in the process of implementation. The next step should be the conclusion of an intergovernmental agreement that will provide for legal mechanisms. Accordingly, work is currently underway on the document," he said.

Regarding Iran's position, Mirzoyan noted that Iranian officials have publicly stated several times that the Armenian side provided them with information and they have no concerns.

"We are talking exclusively about a transport project that will create economic opportunities for Armenia, Azerbaijan, all neighbors, including Iran," the minister said.

As a reminder, on August 8, 2025, following a trilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration on a peaceful settlement between Baku and Yerevan and the creation of a transport communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. This project was named the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP).
