Putin awarded an Azerbaijani scientist
Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded scientist, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor Vagif Kerimov.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to APA, according to the decree signed by the head of state, Vagif Yunus oglu Kerimov was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation".
V. Kerimov was born in 1949 in Baku.
He is a leading scientist in the field of geology, oil and gas exploration and has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities for more than 50 years.
During his career, V. Kerimov held leadership positions at universities of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation, including serving as the head of the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Oil and Gas Exploration at the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (2009-2018).
From 2017 to the present, he has been working as the head of the Department of Geology and Exploration of Hydrocarbon Deposits at the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University of Geological Prospecting in Moscow.
