Khamenei made new appointments in Iran's senior military command
Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has signed decrees appointing new leaders to key positions in the country's top military command.
As reported by Tasnim, Air Force Major General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ali Abdollahi has been appointed Chief of the General Staff, with Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari as his deputy.
Ahmad Vahidi has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, with the rank of Major General conferred upon him.
The post of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Corps has been taken by IRGC Major General Mostafa Ezadi.
In addition, command of the navy has been assigned to IRGC Rear Admiral Ali Azami. And Hossein Taeb has been appointed head of the paramilitary militia "Basij."
