American company Google has integrated an AI-based chatbot analog into its search system.

This is reported by the Financial Times newspaper.

According to the publication, the corresponding technology was presented at the annual developers conference. The innovation suggests that users will be able to conduct a dialogue in a "question-answer" format similar to ChatGPT.

According to Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, integrating AI into the system will allow "completely rethinking search".

The publication emphasizes that Google made its first moves toward implementing such functions in 2024 during the creation of AI Overviews - a system that responds to user queries using information from different sources. The overviews were in demand among users, however, they negatively affected advertising integrations.

During the presentation, the question of integrating advertising into the new AI-powered search technology was not addressed.
