Extended detention period for Ekrem Imamoglu

As part of the ongoing investigation into corruption offenses related to the activities of the Istanbul municipality, the court has decided to extend the detention period for 13 suspects, including former city mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Haber Global, the investigation is being conducted by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office. The defendants face charges under several articles, including: creating and leading a criminal organization, participating in a criminal group, accepting bribes, fraud, illegal collection of personal data, and violations in the tendering process.
The court considered another petition to extend the preventive measure and ruled to keep the suspects in custody. The decision emphasizes that the grounds for arrest remain valid. The investigation continues.
