Earth is overheating: catastrophic heat is already beginning

The world is on the threshold of climate disruptions that will change the lives of billions of people. According to recent forecasts by climatologists published in the journal Nature Communications, the number of extreme temperature fluctuations on the planet will increase dramatically by the end of the 21st century.
If greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced, by 2100 twice as many people as now will be living in conditions of unbearable heat, prolonged droughts, and shortage of drinking water. In some regions, on the contrary, large-scale floods are expected due to melting glaciers and rising sea levels.
Analysis of temperature data over the past half-century has shown: the frequency of sharp climate shifts has increased by 60%. This impacts not only ecosystems but also human health, especially for people with chronic diseases. Weather instability affects food supply, exacerbates social instability, and increases migration flows.
"If the trend continues, billions of people will face dangerous climate anomalies on a permanent basis. The need for decisive action to limit global warming has become even more evident," the researchers emphasize.
Against the backdrop of alarming forecasts, scientists continue to record temperature shifts and call for immediate measures from the global community.
