An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was recorded in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Guadeloupe (an overseas territory of France). The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has declared a tsunami threat.

According to its data, the epicenter was located 196 km west of the city of Saint-Anne, where about 22 thousand people live.
