A strong earthquake occurred in Turkey

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 occurred off the Aegean Sea coast near Gökçeada Island in the Turkish province of Çanakkale.
The Turkish government's Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) promptly reported the incident through its official account on the social network X.
According to updated information, the epicenter of the tremors was located in the area of the Greek peninsula of Agion Oros, at a distance of 130 kilometers from Gökçeada.
The natural phenomenon was registered at 15:46 local time. Specialists determined that the earthquake's focus was at a relatively shallow depth - just 7 kilometers.
Residents of several Turkish provinces - Çanakkale, Izmir, Aydın and adjacent territories felt the tremors. Earth crust vibrations were also recorded in the coastal areas of the Aegean and Marmara seas.
