A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Peru.
This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The tremors were recorded at a depth of 73 km, 50 km northeast of the city of Coracora (Parinacochas Province in the Ayacucho region) in central Peru.
There are no reports of casualties or damage.
