The epicenter of the phenomenon was located 29 kilometers northeast of the city of Mene Grande and 71 kilometers northwest of the city of Valera. The focus was at a depth of 10 kilometers. A tsunami threat has not yet been declared. Information about casualties and destruction is not specified.
