87-year-old Anthony Hopkins admitted what he regrets the most

In his recently published memoir We Did OK, Kid, 87-year-old Anthony Hopkins candidly talks about his path to sobriety, family, film career, and other personal topics.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Kino.Mail.ru, the actor touches on the topic of his long-term estrangement from his daughter Abigail, born in his first marriage and now 57 years old: "Although I've always avoided talking about it, our disconnection has often been presented by tabloids in a distorted and terrible light. They wrote that I supposedly got my daughter hooked on prohibited substances or completely forgot about her in her childhood."

"I was indeed cold in one interview, where I admitted that after twenty years of silence, I didn't know where she was, if she was married, if she had children - and that at that time I didn't care," Hopkins confessed.

He noted that he feels shame for these words but would like to clarify their true meaning: "Although it's not an excuse, I didn't mean indifference, but rather the thought: 'Keep living! Don't look back! Don't get stuck in the past!'"

The legendary actor emphasized that his doors are always open for Abigail. He wishes his daughter health and happiness and admits that he will forever regret the pain he caused by leaving the family.
