22 people died in Mexico due to a fire in a store
At least 22 people, including 4 children, died as a result of a fire that occurred in a store in the city of Hermosillo in northwestern Mexico.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to the newspaper El Universal, another 12 people received burns of varying severity and were taken to the hospital. It is specified that the fire occurred after an explosion.
The publication, citing fire services, notes that the fire started at the entrance to the commercial premises, and many shoppers were trapped inside. The fire was contained and prevented from spreading to neighboring buildings.
The authorities of Sonora state have launched an investigation into the incident. Among the versions being considered are technical malfunction and the possible presence of flammable materials.
