World 15

108-year-old Japanese hairdresser Shitsui Hakoishi shared the secret of her longevity and incredible work capacity. According to the record holder, the key to her active life has been daily physical activity - regular exercise and walks. The master also considers a light balanced diet an important factor in longevity.

On March 5, Shitsui Hakoishi was officially recognized as the oldest working hairdresser in the world. Her unique achievement was solemnly recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. The master's professional journey began in the distant year of 1931, when young Shitsui moved to Tokyo. After eight years of hard work, she and her husband fulfilled their dream - they opened their own beauty salon.

Fate prepared serious trials for Hakoishi. During the war years, she lost not only her beloved husband but also her salon, which was destroyed during an air raid. However, these tragic events did not break the master's spirit.

Showing incredible resilience, Hakoishi moved to Nahagawa, where she opened a new barbershop. She continues to work in this salon to this day and, as the master herself emphasizes, does not plan to retire. The amazing woman has already had 94 years of professional activity. In recent years, Shitsui dreamed of recognition for her record and was immensely happy when it finally happened. The Japanese woman came to the solemn ceremony accompanied by her son and daughter. During the event, she shared her life philosophy: "Don't hold grudges, don't envy, and don't get into arguments," reports the South China Morning Post.
