Many people like to quench their thirst with sweet soda without thinking about the consequences. However, doctors warn: there is a clear sign indicating that it's time for the body to say "stop" to these drinks.
If after consuming soda you begin to feel bloating, heaviness in the stomach or heartburn - this is an alarming signal. Such symptoms may indicate that your gastrointestinal tract is no longer coping with the load. Soda contains carbon dioxide, sugar, and various acids that irritate the stomach lining and can exacerbate chronic digestive diseases.
Another important symptom is a sharp feeling of thirst after the drink. Despite the fact that soda seems refreshing, due to its high sugar content, it actually dehydrates the body. If after a glass of the drink you want to drink even more - this is a reason to consider replacing it with water or natural beverages.
You should also be wary if you have started to notice:

– blood sugar spikes (especially in diabetics),
– weight gain.
Doctors advise: if at least one of these signs appears, you should temporarily give up soda and observe your body's reaction. Better yet - replace it with healthier alternatives: water with lemon, herbal teas, or natural juices without sugar.
