Using Windows 10 will become dangerous

Journalists from Digital Trends have issued a warning regarding the continued use of the Windows 10 operating system. The corresponding material appeared on the official website of the publication.
Experts draw attention to a critically important point: from October 2025, Microsoft Corporation will completely cease technical support for Windows 10, which means stopping the release of updates and security patches. According to data from the analytical agency Statcounter, the situation causes serious concerns, as the outdated system still operates on computers of 58.83 percent of users worldwide.
The publication notes that Microsoft plans to provide paid security updates for a two-year period after the end of official support. The cost of such service will be 30 dollars. However, analysts suggest that a significant portion of users will refuse additional expenses, continuing to use the unsupported version of Windows 10. According to the authors of the article, this category of users will be at increased risk and may become easy targets for hacker attacks and cybercrimes.
Journalists also consider the likelihood of Microsoft softening its position, allowing for the possibility of canceling the fee for security updates. Additionally, in exceptional cases, when particularly dangerous malware is detected, the company may release emergency patches for all users regardless of support status. As a precedent, the authors recall the situation in 2017, when Microsoft released an emergency update for Windows XP, an operating system released back in 2001.
