US Epidemiologist Reports Slowdown in Life Expectancy Growth
The director of DiaPrep Systems in Atlanta, infectious disease specialist and epidemiologist Mikhail Favorov in an interview with RT channel stated that the pace of increase in life expectancy worldwide has begun to slow down, reports BAKU.WS.
According to the specialist, previously the average life expectancy was constantly growing, however in recent years this growth has become less noticeable, which indicates that humanity has reached natural biological limitations.
Favorov noted that despite improvements in quality of life and medical advances, a significant extension of human life is no longer observed. He added that further progress in cancer treatment may only slightly increase this indicator, but a global increase in life expectancy will not occur, since humanity is close to its "natural threshold".
