What is known about the cause of death and the last days of Roman Popov's life?

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Telegram channel Mash, the cause of the artist's death was a recurrence of brain cancer.

Sources report that Popov's body stopped responding to treatment. This summer, the actor ended his career due to illness. In June, he had a seizure, but he refused hospitalization and intended to continue filming. In August, Roman completely lost his vision - he was again diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, first diagnosed back in 2018. At that time, doctors performed surgery to remove the growth, but after several years, the disease returned with complications.

Before his death, the artist was undergoing another course of chemotherapy and recorded a video message to fans, thanking them for helping to raise funds for treatment. Earlier, he admitted that he had long hesitated to talk about his diagnosis:

"I was embarrassed to mention my illness and said: 'I used a cheat code, like in computer games - I just fooled everyone.' I continue to follow a regimen and engage in physical activity. I treated cancer, and chemo and radiation are just accelerators, an acceleration cheat code," Popov said.

According to Mash, in the last days of his life, the actor was in a coma and connected to life support machines.

Popov's partner in the "20:14. City of Sochi" duo as part of Comedy Club, Oganes Grigoryan, said that Roman fought for his life until the end:

"He was feeling unwell lately. Everyone helped however they could when they learned about the illness. We've been fighting with all our might since May. Unfortunately, in recent months, his condition deteriorated, and now it's all over. I will personally express my condolences to his loved ones," he said in an interview with NEWS.ru.

Information about the date and place of the funeral has not yet been disclosed.

Roman Popov was born on April 9, 1985, in Konotop (Ukraine).

He gained wide recognition for his role as Igor Mukhich in the series "Policeman from Rublyovka." Throughout his career, the artist appeared in more than 40 projects, including the films "Freelancer," "President's Vacation," "Girls Are Different," "Harassment," "Drakulov," "Kill the Boss," "Make Me Laugh," "DestroyJeanne," "Mari Tales," "Remain Friends," and others.

Popov was married to a woman named Yulia for almost 20 years. The couple had three children - son Fyodor and daughters Elizaveta and Martha.
