Neurobiologists increasingly say that people with green eyes may possess a unique ability to unconsciously read emotions and intentions of others with higher accuracy.

Those with green irises show increased activity in brain areas responsible for empathy and recognition of micro-expressions. This allows them to literally "read" thoughts through barely noticeable changes in facial expressions, gestures, and even the timbre of the speaker's voice.

This is an evolutionary adaptation associated with the rarity of green pigment. Perhaps in ancient times, such people played the role of mediators.
