To effectively control weight and provide the body with necessary nutrients, it's important not only what you eat, but also when. Nutritionist Samantha Cassetty, in an interview with Today, revealed the optimal time for the first meal - before 8:30 AM.
The specialist particularly emphasized the unique role of breakfast in the daily diet. "In the morning, our body is naturally tuned to absorb and digest food. This happens thanks to the circadian rhythm, which affects everything: from sleep to mood and metabolism," explained Cassetty.
From the perspective of metabolic processes, breakfast before 8:30 represents an ideal solution, since it is during this period that the body demonstrates maximum sensitivity to insulin. "This means that it can more effectively process carbohydrates, better regulate blood sugar levels, and be more energetic throughout the day," noted the expert.
Cassetty also drew attention to the connection between breakfast time and cardiovascular health. She cited research that established a correlation between late breakfasts and an increased risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. Scientific findings indicate: to maintain optimal health, it is recommended to have breakfast no later than nine in the morning, and dinner - before nine in the evening.
