The Hidden Cause of Morning Fatigue Named

Lack of fluid in the body can negatively affect sleep quality and cause morning fatigue. This is the conclusion reached by researchers at the University of Connecticut, as reported in the journal SN Comprehensive Clinical Medicine (SN Compr Clin Med).
The study involved 18 male students who followed different fluid intake regimens over four days. With good hydration levels, participants fell asleep faster and woke up more rested. With mild dehydration, students slept about an hour longer, but reported difficulty falling asleep and more pronounced fatigue in the mornings.
Scientists assessed hydration levels by the color and composition of urine, as well as by changes in body weight, which confirmed the link between the amount of water consumed and sleep quality.
The study authors emphasize that even mild dehydration occurs in many people in everyday life and may explain feelings of exhaustion and difficulties with nighttime rest. In the future, they plan to study the effect of fluid deficiency on the immune system, especially in children and pregnant women.
