UK cleaner who secretly worked in Parliament and bank gets fired

In Great Britain, a woman named Mulikat Ogumudede was fired after it was discovered that for 16 years she secretly worked both as a cleaner in parliament and at a bank, reports Daily Mail.
The court found that from 2008 to 2024, Ogumudede worked at Deutsche Bank Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and then from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM in the parliament building. She evaded employer supervision by working through different cleaning companies. Despite her 17-hour workday, the woman had impeccable discipline and an excellent reputation.
After her overtime work was discovered, Ogumudede was fired from parliament. She tried to challenge the dismissal in court, claiming that she rested on weekends, but all claims were rejected. The judge noted that such a schedule could negatively affect the quality of work, as fatigue increases the likelihood of mistakes. In addition, prolonged overtime harms health, which ultimately damages both the employee, the employer, and society as a whole.
