Pashinyan: The Karabakh issue was used by a number of countries to prevent Armenia's development

Failure of the CSTO to fulfill obligations towards Armenia made it independent.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Armenian media, this was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during the government hour in parliament.

"When in 2022 we realized that the CSTO did not fulfill, is not fulfilling, and will not fulfill its obligations towards us, at that moment we became independent, because we understood that we can only rely on ourselves," he said.

"And we realized that the security system that you supposedly built was a bubble. It was nothing, just a tool to prevent the establishment of our state," said the Prime Minister, addressing the deputy of the opposition faction "Armenia" Armen Khachatryan.

According to Pashinyan, as bitter as it may be, it must be acknowledged that the Karabakh issue was used by a number of countries as a noose to prevent Armenia's movement and development.
