Revealed: A Non-Obvious Way to Improve Memory
People who write by hand have better developed memory and intelligence compared to those who type text, said psychotherapist Eloise Skinner. She revealed this non-obvious way to improve memory in a conversation with HuffPost.
According to the expert, several studies have shown that people who write by hand perform better in quizzes and tests across all subjects. She explains that this is because when writing something on paper, there is greater brain activity than when using other forms of recording information.
The expert added that writing forms connections in the brain that are key for memory formation and encoding new information. "Writing helps structure thoughts, improves spelling and grammar, and also contributes to developing a more conscious, personal style," the psychotherapist believes.
She concluded that handwritten notes help in learning, allow for improved memory, and contribute to better overall brain health.
