44th day of the Patriotic War: Armenia suffered a final defeat

November 9, 2020 - the forty-fourth day of the Patriotic War, which led us to the liberation of our native lands.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, throughout the day and during nighttime, units of the Armenian armed forces fired at the positions of Azerbaijani army units and our settlements from various small arms, cannons, and mortars in different directions of the front.

Combat operations continued with varying intensity in the Agderin, Agdam, Khojavend, and Gubadli directions of the front. During the day, serious blows were inflicted on the enemy on the main directions of the front. In some sections of the frontline, the enemy, suffering losses in manpower and military equipment, was forced to retreat.

Over the day, a large number of enemy personnel, one T-72 tank, one D-30 howitzer, a mortar crew, and one military truck with ammunition were destroyed and disabled. On the night of November 8-9, a mortar crew of the 10th mountain rifle division of the Armenian Armed Forces, stationed at a firing point in the settlement of Ulu Garabey (formerly Metshen) in Terter district, shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani army. With a precise strike by our units, the mortar and its crew at this firing point were destroyed.

With accurate salvos from our units, the enemy's T-72 tank near the settlement of Tonashen and manpower moving in the Khojavend direction of the front were also destroyed.

While at the front our soldiers repel the attacks of the enraged enemy, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev suppresses provocative attacks from the West. In an interview with BBC News, the head of state refutes all bias and shares thoughts about the future of the country:

"I believe that the future of our country will be very bright. In recent years, we have achieved great success. The successes of our country in both political and economic spheres are recognized today by international organizations. Great successes have been achieved in the international arena. Today, Azerbaijan has become a very powerful country. All issues within the country are being resolved. Of course, the settlement of the Karabakh conflict will give new breath to our country. People will first return to their ancestral lands, will be able to visit the graves of their loved ones. The Azerbaijani state will definitely provide them with maximum assistance in this matter. We will reconstruct the lands liberated from occupation, build houses, administrative buildings, schools. Thus, a new period will begin for our country."

The victorious offensive of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces continues on all fronts. In the direction of Shusha city, the operation to destroy the surrounded enemy forces continues. On November 9, near the village of Zarysly on the Lachin-Shusha road, a tank and an infantry fighting vehicle of the Armenian troops, which attempted to break out of the encirclement, were destroyed by strike UAVs.
