Nutritionist explained who should avoid halva

Spring vitamin deficiency and energy decline force many to look for beneficial sources of quick energy. Halva – an Eastern sweet, which can be an excellent solution during this period, however, its beneficial effect directly depends on the composition and amount of the consumed product.
Russian nutritionist Svetlana Sinichenko warns about this, emphasizing that for some categories of people this dessert may be contraindicated.
When choosing halva, it is necessary to be particularly attentive, considering that the main ingredients may be incompatible with certain chronic diseases:
Sunflower seed halva (from sunflower) is harmful for liver and pancreas diseases.
Peanut halva is not recommended for those with allergies to groundnuts and a tendency to form kidney stones.
Sesame halva (from whole sesame seeds) can exacerbate stomach and intestinal problems.
Tahini halva (from ground sesame seeds) is also contraindicated for digestive system problems.
- The most beneficial halva is the one that is minimally processed and contains less sugar. And, of course, even if you are absolutely healthy, you need to observe moderation when consuming this calorie-rich sweet, - emphasized the nutritionist.
