Milan-Bergamo International Airport in Italy was temporarily closed due to an accident on the runway. An unknown man was sucked into the engine of an Airbus A319.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the newspaper Corriere della Sera.
According to preliminary information, the man broke one of the doors in the baggage claim area. After that, he ran onto the runway and ended up in the path of an aircraft preparing for takeoff. As a result, the unknown person was caught in the aircraft engine blades rotating at enormous speed and died instantly.
Why the man ran onto the runway is not reported. After this incident, the aircraft lost control, but the pilot was able to maneuver and stop the plane in time. None of the passengers on board were injured. The airport temporarily suspended arrivals and departures of aircraft.
