Neurobiologist talked about a dangerous morning habit

Neurobiologist Wendy Suzuki warned against one morning habit that can ruin the entire day. Her words are reported by Daily Mirror.

According to the specialist, a common mistake is checking smartphone notifications immediately after waking up. She described such action as destructive for brain function, memory, and motivation.

Suzuki explained that in the morning, the brain has the greatest neuroplasticity - it adapts most easily to external conditions. During this time, dopamine and cortisol levels are also elevated. "This combination of hormones makes a person energetic, focused and ready for activity, but gadgets deprive the brain of this resource," the expert noted.

To verify this, the neurobiologist suggested conducting an experiment: for five days, don't touch your phone for the first 20 minutes after waking up. During this time, you can, for example, write down three goals for the day or calmly drink a cup of coffee. "Pay attention to what the brain is capable of when given freedom," Suzuki emphasized.
