Hot drinks can provoke cancer: details

Regular consumption of beverages with temperatures above 65-70°C increases the risk of developing esophageal and stomach cancer, said oncologist Maria Chistyakova from the Center for Molecular Diagnostics CMD of the Sverdlovsk Federal Research Center for Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor.
This type of cancer is among the most dangerous oncological diseases. An important factor contributing to its development is systematic damage to the mucous membrane of these organs, which can occur due to the consumption of scalding hot beverages, as well as excessively salty and spicy food.
"Constant tissue trauma increases the likelihood of developing precancerous conditions, which over time can develop into esophageal cancer," the expert explained in an interview with "Gazeta.Ru".
The risk of cancer also increases with frequent consumption of tough and poorly chewed food, alcohol abuse, smoking, and inflammatory diseases of the esophagus.
