Expert explained who should avoid tangerines for New Year
Tangerines can worsen stomach problems, so people with gastrointestinal diseases should avoid them on New Year's Eve. This was stated by reflexologist and qigong master Irina Starkova.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Gazeta.Ru", according to the specialist, if you have problems with the stomach or pancreas, tangerines can worsen your condition, especially after a copious festive feast.
The expert also noted that tangerines grown in warm regions have a "cooling" effect. Therefore, they are not recommended for people who often have cold hands and feet.
At the same time, for those experiencing internal heat, increased activity, or possible bile stagnation in the liver, tangerines, on the contrary, can be beneficial, gently cooling and calming the body.
Starkova added that traditional Russian cuisine has significantly more sources of vitamin C than tangerines.
If it's difficult to give up the familiar New Year's symbol, the specialist advised brewing tea with tangerines - it will be healthy, beautiful, and delicious.
In addition, tangerines can be used as a decorative element or a gift. In China, for example, there is a tradition of giving two tangerines for the New Year: the sound and appearance of the hieroglyph for "tangerine" resembles the hieroglyph for "gold," and its color is associated with prosperity and well-being.
