Doctor warned about the danger of attempts to strengthen immunity
Attempts to artificially stimulate the immune system can pose a serious health risk, said leading Russian specialist Olga Shuppo, head of the Grand Clinic immunorehabilitation clinic network, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The expert emphasized that the immune system is an extremely complex mechanism of natural protection of the body against pathogens. T- and B-lymphocytes, key components of the immune system, have the ability to identify various antigens and form a protective response.
However, uncontrolled use of immunostimulating drugs, vitamin complexes and dietary supplements can provoke the development of autoimmune diseases instead of the expected strengthening of immunity.
