Doctor named the first signal of an impending heart attack

Russian cardiologist Evgenia Bogaevskaya warned about the importance of timely recognition of angina as an early sign of cardiovascular diseases.
As reported by BAKU.WS, in an interview with "Lenta.ru" publication, the specialist provided detailed information about this pathology.
According to Bogaevskaya, angina manifests as a characteristic pressing or squeezing pain in the chest, which may radiate to the left arm, shoulder, neck, or lower jaw. The pain syndrome usually lasts no more than 15 minutes and is accompanied by a feeling of air shortage and shortness of breath.
"Angina is also called 'chest angina' - because of the pressing sensation that occurs behind the sternum, making it difficult to breathe," explained the cardiologist.
"It's important to understand that angina is not just about pain and discomfort. In fact, it's an important harbinger of more serious heart diseases, including myocardial infarction," emphasized the doctor.
The specialist also noted categories of people with an increased risk of developing angina: elderly people, patients with hypertension, obesity and diabetes, smokers, people with high pulse rates, and those leading a sedentary lifestyle.
