Ruzgar Ibrahimzade: We will do everything possible to become European champions

The Azerbaijan national futsal team will do everything possible to take first place at the European Championship in Slovakia.

This was stated to Report by team player Ruzigar Ibrahimzade.

The player shared his impressions after the 3:0 victory over Italy.

"I am playing at the European Championship for the first time. We have won our second consecutive match and advanced to the playoffs. Additionally, I scored my first goal for the national team. I am glad that I was able to contribute to the national team. I believe this will not be our last victory. We will do everything possible to become the champions of the tournament," said R. Ibrahimzade.

He noted that in today's match the team performed more confidently.

"Compared to the first game, today was easier, as we had not yet fully adjusted to the pitch. We had been training at a different venue. The first match of a tournament is always difficult, but after that we are able to show higher quality play," the player emphasized.

Commenting on the upcoming third-round match against France on May 30, R. Ibrahimzade said that the team never thinks about their opponents.

"We intend to play at a high level against any opponent, and we are focused solely on winning," he concluded.

As a reminder, the Azerbaijani national team, which previously secured a narrow victory over Austria (1:0), currently leads Group F with 6 points. France is in second place (4), Italy is third (1), and Austria is in last place, having lost both matches.
