Lamin Yamal lost his passport and cannot leave Turkey

Barcelona and Spain national team midfielder Lamin Yamal lost his passport after the 2026 World Cup qualifying match against the Turkish national team.

The footballer is stuck in the city of Konya, where the game took place, and cannot fly home without an identity document.

The match between Turkey and Spain was held at the "Medaş Konya Büyükşehir" stadium and ended with a crushing victory for the visitors with a score of 6:0. Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino scored a hat-trick for the winners.

Yamal is a product of Barcelona's youth academy. In the 2024/25 season, he played 35 matches for Barcelona in La Liga, in which he scored nine goals and provided 13 assists, winning the championship and the Spanish Cup with the team. In 2024, the footballer won the European Championship with the Spanish national team.
