The number of cars per thousand people in Baku has been announced

In Azerbaijan, over the past 20 years, the average annual population growth rate was 1%, while in Baku and adjacent territories this figure was 1.3%.
This is stated in the State Program for improving transport infrastructure in Baku and adjacent territories for 2025-2030, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
"During this period, the number of cars per 1000 people in Baku increased from 132 to 320. Rapid population growth creates additional pressure on urban infrastructure and services, especially on the transport sector.
Growing demand for transport services creates new challenges, such as expanding public transport, reducing traffic congestion, and implementing environmentally sustainable solutions. The transition from private transport to public and individual mobility means depends on infrastructure development. The program includes the construction of more than 100 km of bicycle lanes and complete digitalization of passenger experience when using public transport and other vehicles," the program states.
