On the case of the soldier's murder in Nakhchivan, the state prosecution has requested punishment for the unit commander

The judicial investigation into the murder of serviceman Jeyhun Huseynov, who went missing in Nakhchivan in June 2023 and was found dead two days later, has been completed.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, at the trial in the Nakhchivan Military Court, the prosecutor requested 5 years of imprisonment for the accused - Colonel Samir Gaziev, commander of the military unit (where Huseynov served) and 4 years for the former head of the medical service of the military unit, Medical Service Captain Aydin Guliyev. The state prosecutor also proposed to take A. Guliyev into custody in the courtroom.

The next hearing will be held on April 17.

Recall that Jeyhun Huseynov went missing on June 9, 2023, and was found dead two days later. A criminal case was initiated regarding the death of the serviceman under Article 120.2.12 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances).
