Money stolen from a bank card can be recovered: what steps need to be taken?

Every day dozens of people become victims of bank card theft. It has not yet been possible to completely solve this problem. In other words, there are still many people who voluntarily share their card data with third parties or enter them on unreliable platforms. As a result, cybercriminals can empty the account to the last penny, transferring money to other accounts.

In what cases is it possible to recover funds stolen from cards or electronic wallets?

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Xəzər Xəbər, the Ministry of Internal Affairs states that if you do not report to the appropriate authorities within 1 hour after funds are withdrawn from the card, this money is already taken out of the country.

Cybersecurity expert Amrah Movsumzade, addressing the importance of reporting card theft within the first hour, notes that this period is considered a "critical time window." Banks and payment systems during this time have the ability to track, stop, or block the transaction. Otherwise, funds can be directed outside the country, into cryptocurrency, or to anonymous accounts.
