Large-scale demolition of old buildings begins in several districts of Baku
In some areas of Baku city, there are plans to relocate residents from old buildings, demolish dilapidated structures, and improve the territories.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, buildings and structures with expired service life, which do not represent historical value, are predominantly in an emergency condition and have a high degree of wear will be demolished.
Representatives of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the State Service for Property Issues, and executive authorities have already inspected the territories subject to demolition.
Relocation will be carried out in accordance with the Civil Code of Azerbaijan, the Law "On Land Acquisition for State Needs" and relevant resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers. Calculation and payment of appropriate compensation will be ensured.
According to the new General Plan of Baku, modern parks, recreation areas, new metro lines and stations will be built in the relocation areas. Demolition work will not be carried out on historical buildings located in these territories.
