It Has Been Revealed How to Receive a Deceased Parent's Pension

In Azerbaijan, the loss of the head of the family creates both moral and material difficulties for family members.
The state's social policy provides for a survivor's labor pension as a support mechanism in such cases.
This pension is paid to family members who meet certain conditions and is aimed at ensuring their social well-being.
Who is eligible for the pension, how is it calculated, and what documents are required?
As reported by the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) in response to Baku.ws's inquiry, the survivor's labor pension, which is an important part of social security for those who have lost their breadwinner, is granted under certain conditions:
"This pension is provided to family members of the deceased person if they have the insurance period required by law.
The following family members of the deceased person are entitled to receive a labor pension:
Children under 18 years of age;
Children whose disability was established before the age of 18 or who became disabled later;
Children studying full-time until the age of 23;
Parents (mother, father), spouse who have reached 65 years for men and 64 years for women, or who have disability with 61-100% body function impairment;
Non-working parent, spouse, grandfather, grandmother, brother or sister caring for children, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren until they reach 8 years of age.
Pension calculation procedure:
The survivor's pension is calculated according to the rules for calculating the insurance part of the disability pension.
For example, when a person born in 1977 dies in February 2023, two family members become eligible for the pension.
With a required 10-year work experience, they have an insurance period of 18 years and 4 months.
The pension capital in their personal account is 31,041.44 manats.
By dividing this amount by 86.40, a pension of 359.28 manats is established.
Documents required for pension assignment
The following documents must be submitted to receive the pension:
✔ Copy of ID card
✔ Birth and death certificates of the deceased breadwinner
✔ Certificate from educational institution for children under 23
✔ Medical examination conclusion for persons with disabilities
✔ Certificate confirming that the widowed spouse has not remarried
✔ Documents confirming the deceased's work experience (work book, etc.)
✔ Information sheet from relevant state bodies for family members of persons with special ranks".
Note that this pension, being an important element of social security in the country, is aimed at easing the financial burden of those who have lost their breadwinner. If there are persons in the family eligible for this payment, they can collect the necessary documents and apply to the relevant authorities.
