In Azerbaijan, they celebrate "Yel chershenbesi"

Today in Azerbaijan, "Yel chershenbesi" is celebrated.
BAKU.WS reminds that "Yel chershenbesi" is the third Tuesday before the Novruz holiday.
According to beliefs, the wind that awakens on this day sets in motion the water and fire that had awakened before it. Folklore is rich with various songs, legends, myths, beliefs, and sayings related to the deity of Wind.
On the day of "Yel chershenbesi," women prepare for the last pre-holiday Tuesday. Household utensils are cleaned, carpets and rugs are beaten, and bedding is aired out. Women sew new clothes for children. Young girls clean nuts from their shells and prepare to bake holiday sweets.
On "Yel chershenbesi," as on other Tuesdays before the holiday, everyone should be at home and gather at one table, which should have sweets, so that the coming year will be good and successful.
Note that in Azerbaijan, the last Tuesday - "Torpag chershenbesi" - will be celebrated on March 18. Spring in the country this year will arrive on the day of the spring equinox - March 20 at 13:01:25 Baku time. The duration of spring will be 92 days, 17 hours, 40 minutes, and 46 seconds.
