How did the SEC (State Examination Center) respond to the controversial question on the master's entrance exam?

During the first stage of the master's degree entrance exam held yesterday in Azerbaijan, one of the tests caused dissatisfaction among examinees.

As reported by Baku.ws with reference to Oxu.az, this question sparked widespread discussion on social media.

The cause of discussion and confusion was that the State Examination Center (SEC) in the analogy question "year-quarter; relay-?" (il-rüb; estafet-?) accepted the variant "distance" (mənzil) as the correct answer instead of the question mark.

The SEC clarified the issue and confirmed that the variant "distance" is correct.

"The explanation of the analogy and justification of the answer in the test task used in the master's entrance exam, according to the explanatory dictionary of the Azerbaijani language, is as follows:

year (il) - the period during which the Earth makes one revolution around the Sun (a period of 12 months, starting from January 1).

quarter (rüb) - a quarter of a year.

relay (estafet) - team competitions in running, swimming, etc. (in these competitions, participants replace each other at certain distances and pass a specific object to each other).

distance (mənzil) - one of the parts of the traveled path; stage," - the explanation states.
