Baku University Found Itself at the Center of Scandal Over Student Performance

A festive event dedicated to International Women's Day on March 8 at the Baku Business University caused widespread public resonance after a video appeared on social media.
As reported by BAKU.WS, at the ceremonial event, attended by university rector Ibad Abbasov, students performed a parody number impersonating a famous singer.
University representatives explained to "Unikal" that the video was not intended for public distribution.
"Parodies of various personalities are often performed on the stages of our republic, and this is not always perceived unambiguously. In this case, it was a festive event for women where students simply performed a parody number. What's wrong with people having fun at an educational institution?
On social media, people can criticize both good and bad things. Everyone has their own opinion - what seems good to one person may seem bad to another. We cannot consider something wrong just because a certain group of people didn't like it."
