Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations issued an important warning to the population

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan has appealed to the population to observe fire safety rules when lighting traditional bonfires on the occasion of the Novruz holiday, particularly Ilahyr chershenbe ("Torpag chershenbe").
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the appeal states that failure to comply with fire safety rules when lighting bonfires can lead to dire consequences.
It is noted that bonfires should be lit away from buildings, cars, electrical wires, trees, and any flammable materials. Children gathering around the bonfire should be supervised by adults.
"Be careful when jumping over the bonfire, make sure that after the celebration the fire in the bonfire is completely extinguished," the statement says.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations also urged citizens not to leave burning candles unattended on festive tables.
