PSY, the creator of the hit Gangnam Style, has been detained

South Korean singer Park Jae-sang, known by his stage name PSY, was detained on suspicion of violating medical legislation.

According to sources, the artist is accused of obtaining prescription psychotropic drugs through intermediaries. His attending physician was also detained. Since 2022, the musician has allegedly been regularly receiving medications "with a high risk of developing dependency."

The doctor himself rejected the accusations, explaining that the consultations were conducted remotely. Representatives of the performer reported that Park Jae-sang has been diagnosed with a chronic sleep disorder requiring the use of sleeping pills prescribed by a specialist. They emphasized that they did not issue prescriptions in the doctor's name, however, medications were sometimes transferred through third parties.
