Orthopedist Andrey Litvinenko did not rule out that the tendon in Maxim Galkin's hand may not fully recover after the comedian was injured in a recent car accident. His words are reported by aif.ru.

According to the specialist, the recovery prognosis depends on the nature of the injury. With a partial tendon rupture, conservative treatment without surgical intervention is possible. However, in the case of a complete rupture, surgery is necessary, followed by a long period of rehabilitation.

"Very often this ends with the formation of joint contracture, meaning these tendons don't always recover 100%. The person doesn't become disabled, of course, although everything depends on the severity of the injury," the expert explained.

Of particular concern, Litvinenko stated, is the possibility of a tendon fragment detachment during the accident. In such a case, the treatment prognosis becomes uncertain, and there is a risk that the hand may remain in a fixed position - either bent or lowered.

"This means the person won't be able to do some everyday things with this hand - pick up a glass, shake hands with someone, button up, unzip a zipper, and so on," he noted.
