After recent processes around the Zangezur corridor, in particular, statements by Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev at the III Shusha Global Media Forum and information from the influential Spanish publication Periodista Digital that a trilateral secret agreement on the corridor has been reached between Armenia, Azerbaijan and the USA, and that it will be transferred to the management of an American company for 99 years, the topic of Zangezur has again become actively discussed in Tehran.

This is stated in a video material on the YouTube channel "Free Iran".

"Despite the presence of serious problems within the country and its external relations, the numerous articles published daily about the Zangezur corridor and speeches by various experts create the impression that the fate of the Islamic republic is being decided in Zangezur. The Fars news agency, associated with the IRGC, writes: "The Zangezur corridor is not just a transport route for Iran, but essentially a vital issue".

Even the official Yerevan's refutation of the Spanish newspaper's information did not defuse the situation: in the context of all this, media resources directly linked to the Iranian authorities continued to publish numerous news with headlines containing the phrase "alarming signal".

It is noteworthy that these articles are dominated by conspiratorial approaches that serve to exaggerate the scale of danger and inflame some passions, and the Zangezur corridor as a whole is described as a conspiracy against Tehran. It is claimed that the purpose of this project is to surround the Islamic republic, achieve its geopolitical isolation, and ultimately fragment the country by encroaching on its territorial integrity. It is noted that Israel is behind all this, as well as Azerbaijan, which is presented as the main ally of the Jewish state. In general, it seems that the topic of the Zangezur corridor is used in Iran to ensure that anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric does not soften. In addition, all kinds of provocations are made, slander against official Baku, even calls for military action.
