Ursula von der Leyen will visit Azerbaijan on July 1
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will arrive in Azerbaijan on July 1.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the AnewZ television channel.
According to the information, the trip will take place immediately after her visit to Armenia and will be the first visit by the head of the European Commission to Baku since July 2022.
During the upcoming visit, discussions are expected to cover the current state and prospects of relations between the European Union and Azerbaijan, cooperation in the energy sector, as well as regional processes.
During the regional visit, which takes place against the backdrop of Brussels' efforts to strengthen transport, energy, and digital links in the South Caucasus and countries along the Middle Corridor, Ursula von der Leyen will be accompanied by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
It should be recalled that following von der Leyen's previous visit to Azerbaijan, a memorandum on strategic partnership in the energy sector was signed, which laid the foundation for increasing Azerbaijani gas supplies to the EU.
