Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a letter to Ilham Aliyev

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAG, the message states:

"Dear Ilham Heydar oglu, my dear brother,

I received with great satisfaction the news about the Joint Declaration signed by you and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Washington with the participation of the President of the United States of America Donald Trump.

I regard this document, first and foremost, as a clear result of your many years of tireless efforts, resolute political will, as well as bold and fair initiatives aimed at restoring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ensuring lasting peace and sustainable development in the South Caucasus region.

The significant progress achieved in recent years under your leadership towards signing a Peace Agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia deserves special approval.

We feel boundless pride that the Azerbaijani people, who are truly brotherly to us, have achieved such high accomplishments during a period of serious trials and rapid changes.

Dear Ilham Heydar oglu,

Your wise and far-sighted policy creates a reliable foundation not only for the full realization of the long-standing hopes of the brotherly Azerbaijani people, enhancing its authority and respect in the international arena, but also for strengthening peace and progress in the region.
